What this site stores

• In your browser only (localStorage): your filter preferences and cached restaurant results, so repeat hunts are instant and free. Nothing leaves your device. Clear your browser data and it's gone.
• No accounts, no tracking pixels, no cross-site anything. The only measurement we do, if any, is GoatCounter, a cookie-free counter that tallies "someone visited a page," never who. We don't know who you are, and frankly the mystery suits you.

What happens when you hunt

• Your searched location is sent to our server, which asks Google Places for the restaurant data and caches the answer for everyone (so each city is fetched once, not per person). Locations are snapped to a coarse grid; we never see or keep a precise GPS fix.
• Your IP address is used transiently for rate limiting (abuse prevention) and standard hosting logs at Netlify. We don't store it ourselves.
• Typed location lookups may use Google's autocomplete or OpenStreetMap's geocoder.

Reviews and ratings

All ratings, review excerpts, and reviewer names shown on the site come from public Google reviews, with attribution and links to their authors. The tags ("allegedly") are automated keyword summaries of those public reviews. They're commentary, not our claims of fact.

The tip jar links go to Ko-fi, which has its own privacy policy.
