Most people think they have “quirks.” They have priors. After cataloguing the lowest-rated kitchens in America, we’ve learned to recognise the offenders before they even sit down. A few of the classics:
- 🥩 Steak murder
- Ordering a good cut well-done is a victimless crime only if you don’t count the cow, the chef, and everyone within earshot. Aggravated steak murder adds ketchup. There is no parole.
- 🍍 Tropical maximalism
- Pineapple on pizza is a misdemeanour. Pineapple, ham, and jalapeño is a manifesto. We don’t make the laws of Naples; we just enforce them.
- 🥤 Ranch as a beverage
- Ranch on salad: lawful. Ranch on pizza, wings, and fries: a lifestyle. Ranch on everything, drunk straight from the bottle at 1am: that’s the one that shows up on the background check.
- 🌭 Gas-station gourmet
- The heat-lamp taquito has been spinning since Tuesday and you know it. Eating it anyway isn’t bravery, exactly — but it is the exact temperament we look for in a Worst Eats hunter.
- 📉 The 2.1-star pilgrim
- Most people see a 2.1-star rating and run. The truly dangerous see an itinerary. If the worst review on the page made you more curious, you already know your verdict.
None of this is medical, legal, or culinary advice. It’s a quiz. But the restaurants are real, the ratings are real, and your taste, statistically, is on trial. Read why even the “bad” ones now rate 4.4★ →
